Day 1: Travel the Barrier Highway to Broken Hill, Visit Burra once an important Copper Mining Centre.  Tonight in a motel in Broken Hill


Day 2: Further "Outback" today. Off to Tibooburra, visiting the unique locations of Packsaddle and Milparinka,  with a visit to Depot Glen where Sturt made camp on his famous inland explorations of 1845 - Overnight at Tibooburra Hotel-Motel or Cabin.


Day 3: To "Cooper Creek" country today via Camerons Corner via the old Strzelecki Track - view the Dingo Fence - Overnight at Innamincka Hotel - Motel Rooms.


Day 4: Visit "Coongie Lakes” World Heritage and Ramsar listed wetland area for some bird spotting & history, visit Kings marker and stay overnight at Innamincka


Day 5: Travel to Birdsville - visit the Burke & Wills Dig Tree and Cordillo Downs Shearing shed, where up to 80,000 sheep were shorn by shearers who rode  their bicycles from Farina on the old Ghan Railway, crossing over the Cobbler and Sturts Stony deserts to get there and then back again afterwards!  Overnight at the Birdsville Hotel or Cabins - depending on availability.


Day 6: We visit Big Red (the largest sand dune on the eastern edge of in the Simpson Desert). We spend the morning travelling in a westerly direction into the Simpson Desert as far as the usually dry Eyre Creek - for picnic lunch under the shade of an old Coolabah Tree. We return to Birdsville for the afternoon which is free time to walk and explore the inland oasis of Birdsville.  Overnight at Birdsville.


Day 7: A leisurely start and then head south down the famous "Birdsville Track". Taking the 'Inside track' if open - this was the original track used by Drovers with large mobs of cattle, to Mungerannie Hotel - One of the most isolated in Australia. Visit a warm artesian water hole, a great area for some bird watching. O/night at Oasis Motel, Marree - cabins


Day 8: We travel from Marree to William Creek along the Oodnadatta track stopping at Lake Eyre South, Mound Springs and Beresford Railway Siding. Leave the Oodnadatta Track and travel out to the western access track of Lake Eyre North to Halligan Bay - arriving at William Creek at approx 5.30pm. Spend the night in the ensuited Pelican Cabins and a meal at the William Creek pub.


Day 9: This morning optional fly over Lake Eyre on a 60 minute Scenic Flight from William Creek at about 7.30am (at own cost).  After the flight we travel to Coober Pedy - stop to visit the lake Cadibarrawirracanna for morning tea – before heading on to Coober Pedy. Spend the afternoon looking around the town. In the late afternoon we  head out to enjoy a sunset visit the Breakaways - followed by dinner at the local iconic Johns Pizza Bar Restaurant - and spend the night in an underground motel in Coober Pedy.


Day 10: Early start travel to Adelaide via the whistle stops towns of Glendambo and Kimba - visit the rocket display at Woomera - travel to the Spencer Gulf at Port Augusta getting in to Adelaide late afternoon.


Includes: 9 nights accommodation, 9 Dinners, 8 Cont. breakfasts, 10 Lunches (picnic style or Cafe/pub), 10 Morning teas
