Day 1: 7.30 am. pickup from your hotel in Adelaide, and travel 300 Kms North to the historic Ghan Railway township of Quorn. Next stop is Hawker the Hub of the Flinders Ranges and the gateway to the Outback before travelling through the Moralana Scenic Drive, one of the best in the Flinders Ranges. Check into accommodation at Wilpena Pound Resort.
Day 2: After breakfast, enjoy an unforgettable complimentary 20-minute Scenic Flight around this spectacular geological formation called Wilpena Pound (subject to weather). After the flight we continue our Journey to Arkaroola as we travel through the heart of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park via Bunyeroo Valley & Gorge, spectacular Brachina Gorge, then further north and call into the Aroona Dam near Leigh Creek (former coal mining town) and on to the lonely town of Copley for lunch. With abundance of wildlife in the area there is a good chance you could see Kangaroos, Euros (Wallaroos) Emus, Parrots and the graceful Wedge Tailed Eagle. Follow the dirt roads as we carry on to Arkaroola via Nepabunna Community and the Italowie Gorge (former home to RM Williams) Meander through to Vulkathunha Gammon Ranges National Park before arriving at the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary Resort. Founded by Reg & Griselda Sprigg now operated by their son Doug and Vicki.
Day 3: Early breakfast before joining the exclusive, world famous, Arkaroola Ridgetop Tour, travel through the creeks, valleys & over the ridges of the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, climaxing with an amazing view from a stunning lookout. After lunch, we say good bye to our new friends at Arkaroola and spend the afternoon sightseeing our way across remote sheep station properties to Blinman. We’ll be taking in the sights such as the Historic Balcanoona Woolshed, we stop for a 4WD trek into Chambers Gorge, where you can view the gallery of ancient Rock Engravings before arriving at the “Blinman Hotel” around 5 o’clock. Pre dinner sunset drinks watching the sun drop and enjoy our evening meal.
Day 4: Return to Adelaide via Hawker, and the famous wine producing Clare Valley before arriving back at your Adelaide accommodation late afternoon.
